Host Community
Transparency, Dialogue, and Shared Value
If an AD project is proposed in your area, Climaticus works to ensure your community has accurate information, genuine participation, and material benefit from the development. We combine transparency, monitoring, and structured engagement so communities are not left outside the process.
Transparency and Monitoring
Custos provides host communities with real-time access to plant performance data, including emissions, feedstock inputs, digestate outputs, and environmental compliance indicators. Data is presented in plain language. Community members do not need to request it. It is available as standard.
Civitas Engagement
Civitas by Climaticus structures dialogue between the development and the community across the full project lifecycle. Concerns are addressed and documented. The engagement record is traceable. We design accessible events around principles of transperancy and one-to-one dialogue. Civitas includes a formal walk-away protocol. Where a project cannot be made acceptable, Climaticus will recommend withdrawal.
Shared Value Structures
Climaticus believes that host communities should receive material benefit from development in their area. This can include fair farmer returns on feedstock supply, digestate access on terms that improve soil health, community benefit funds, and community energy investment structures where appropriate.
Community engagement is core to whether a project is legitimate, workable, and capable of holding support over time.

Climaticus works with communities that want to develop and own their own AD plant. We provide the full project development suite, from feasibility through to operational planning, governance, and route-to-market support.
Feasibility and Plant Modelling
Climaticus produces investment-grade feasibility studies for community-led projects covering feedstock mapping, yield projections, technology selection, site assessment, digestate management, and financial modelling structured for community governance and external finance.
Feedstock Sourcing
Community-led projects require secure feedstock supply. Climaticus sources and structures supply agreements across local agricultural networks, with contracts designed for community-owned enterprises.
Planning and Civitas
Civitas by Climaticus structures community-led projects to build broad local support and generate a strong planning record. For community-led developments, Civitas works on behalf of the community, not the developer, so the process reflects the community's own values and objectives.
Finance Pathways
Climaticus supports community-led projects in accessing three financing pathways: community investment vehicles, green bonds, and grant support where applicable. We identify which combination fits the project and support the application process.
Custos and Offtake
Community-owned plants are connected to Custos for MRV and RED II compliance, and to Biogenia for biomethane and biogenic CO2 offtake.
