OUR PRODUCTS & SERVICES

Place-Based Partnership for Sustainable Infrastructure.

Civitas by Climaticus is a structured engagement methodology for anaerobic digestion projects. The framework establishes the conditions for meaningful dialogue between developers and stakeholders across the full lifecycle of a development. Governance gates and a formal walk-away protocol maintain the integrity of the methodology throughout.

The Civitas Principles

Three commitments shape every Civitas engagement, from earliest scoping through to planning submission.

Procedural Justice

Local stakeholders are partners from the earliest phase of project design. Civitas by Climaticus is designed to encourage open dialogue, understand community context  and  foster transparency.

Knowledge Transfer

The framework moves peer-reviewed literature and technical data directly into local communication networks via a site-specific website built for each proposed anaerobic digestion plant.

Traceable Influence

The process produces a documented record of how local insights shape the final project and beyond as community dashboards share relevant, timely data.

Understanding Regional Contexts

Civitas by Climaticus maps place-based priorities to build alignment between developers and site-adjacent stakeholders. The methodology works with local stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the area and its history, which allows participants to examine potential issues and resolve them together.

Relational Groundwork

Relational trust develops through shared, verified information supported by literature and trusted industry reports.

Factual Anchors

Accessible technical summaries reduce the space where speculative local narratives or unverified content stabilise.

Legitimate Dialogue

Place-based networks explore the engineering reality of a facility at a comfortable, non-contested pace.

Civitas by Climaticus is underpinned by academic research, built on the conviction that true dialogue must be open to everyone and that knowledge is worth little until shared.

Implementation Outcomes

Civitas is built to serve the developer and the community at once, and its outcomes land on both sides. For the developer, it delivers a verified, auditable record of local stakeholder consultation for the planning application, reducing project determination timelines and easing structural friction within the planning system. For the community, the same process opens the project up: clear information about anaerobic digestion and the specific development, and a real route to shape the design, building transparency, trust and a stronger, longer-lasting social licence.

Documented Dialogue

The final output structures a traceable timeline of stakeholder feedback, engineering responses, and design adjustments.

Risk Mitigation

Early identification of place-based concerns prevents late-stage design variations and unexpected capital deployment.

Protocol Boundaries

A formal walk-away protocol governs the programme, defining clear thresholds where Climaticus will recommend withdrawal if unmitigable risks to trust or safety emerge.

Shared Understanding

Residents gain honest, accessible information on how anaerobic digestion works and what a given project means for their place, so engagement is informed and consent is meaningful.

Durable Social Licence

Open dialogue from the outset builds trust that outlasts the planning phase, giving the project firmer footing through construction and operation.

Accountable Commitments

Because feedback and the responses to it stay on the record, the community can hold the developer to what was agreed, through construction and into operation.

Structured Staging and Execution Tracks

The programme operates through three distinct tracks, selected entirely based on local conditions. All three tracks serve to work with communities to create open dialogue, establish engagement, and share localised information, including the active research findings conducted by Climaticus.
